Barred from military service for medical reasons, pro golfers Byron Nelson (d.2006) and Harold "Jug" McSpaden (d.1996) participated in a lengthy string of exhibition matches during WWII to benefit the Red Cross and the USO. Nearly always finishing first and second in more than one hundred such matches, the two were dubbed the "Gold Dust Twins". Add some serious autograph gold to your collection with this 1945 "East Aurora Country Club Exhibition and Match" ticket stub dual-signed by Nelson ("8") and McSpaden ("6-7"). Numbered "1392", this ticket rates as (FR-GD) with an irregular tear at bottom and a handwritten date on the obverse. Located on the reverse in pencil, both signatures have creases passing through them, though both remain clearly discernible. Full photo LOA from JSA.
