Launched in London in 1899, Golf Illustrated was regally dubbed “The Weekly Organ of the Royal and Ancient Game.” Here are (4) displays showcasing some of the revered publication’s earliest front covers. Each is handsomely framed to dimensions of 15 x 18-3/8” and symmetrically centered by a gilded edge and green matte. Each archival print features a title, date and sepia-toned photograph of the issue’s featured links star. Includes:

June 16, 1899: first-ever cover; Open champion Harry Vardon

July 22, 1927: Robert Tyre Jones

May 17, 1929: Walter Hagen

June 17, 1932: Gene Sarazen
