In between his valiant three-year tour of duty in World War II and his less-than stellar tenure as a baseball executive, Hall of Famer Hank Greenberg returned from the U.S. Army to earn his fourth single-season home run and RBI crowns in 1946. Encapsulated and Graded GOOD 2 by PSA, this ticket stub was issued at Shibe Park for the July 21, 1946 contest between the Philadelphia Athletics and Greenberg’s Detroit Tigers. In the game, Greenberg snapped a 1-1 ninth-inning tie with his 285th career circuit clout (although Philly went on to score three times in the bottom of the frame to win it). One of two examples at its tier with none graded higher, the post-war collectible features printed seating and date details, as well as the facsimile signature of A’s President Connie Mack.
