Henry (Handsome Harry) Boyle was a pitcher from 1884 to 1889 for the St. Louis Maroons and Indianapolis Hoosiers. Graded Authentic by SGC. The Philadelphia native is pictured with the latter club on this circa 1888 Marceau & Power Studio cabinet. Measures 4-1/8 x 6-1/2" and features a crystal clear sepia image of the hard luck hurler. Despite evidence of trimming along the top and right edges plus varying degrees of front/back staining on the corners/edges, this antique still has outstanding eye appeal. The sturdy foundation is crease-free and a jilted fan amusingly etched "Traitor Boyle" in pencil on the reverse.
