In its one-year marriage to the Bronx Bombers, Tacoma fielded a champion squad in the 1978 Pacific Coast League. Piloted by former Yankee Mike Ferraro, the Class AAA club went 80-57 and, after that year’s championship series with Albuquerque was washed out, was declared co-champion of the circuit. This jacket was worn by a Tacoma Yankees player that year – perhaps one of the 15 who went on to play with the parent club. The navy blue satin-like button-down garment features an interlocking “TY” logo sewn to the left breast in white twill. There are two front pockets, a 4”-wide collar and blue-and-white striped stretch ribbed knit lining the sleeve endings. The fur lined interior is home to a vintage “Aladen” label and a metallic chain hanger. This rare Pinstriper keepsake hails from the franchise’s only season in the Great Northwest! All original and unaltered, the jacket shows solid wear with minor paint loss on metal buttons.
