Round the auction bases and head for the plate to claim this lot of (4) Ron Kuntz photos. Taken on the set of popular 1962 sports comedy film "Safe at Home!", these handsome photos make a nice presentation in average (EX) condition. A longtime staff photographer for the Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper, photographer Kurtz is celebrated for his fantastic body of work featuring some of the greatest athletes in the history of American sports. The Trend continues here, with (2) 7x9 photos of Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris, seen at the height of their "M&M Boys" fame. One of these photos shows the Yankees sluggers on the field in uniform and the other is a candid shot in street clothes, getting instruction from what appears to be film director Walter Doniger. Also present are a 7x9 photo of Yankees manager Ralph Houk sitting in the director's chair and an 6x8 photo with borders trimmed off of all the film's baseball players on the field. All (4) photos have Kuntz' credit stamp on the reverse.
